We currently have "celia birtwell" chairs which we got from Millets. These are now showing signs of their age and may need replaced soon. They are the comfiest chairs we have sat in and to date have not sat in anything as good. Does anyone know if these were a one off or were they based on a "standard" model?

Cheers

Seems they were one offs for MIllets - time to trek round the camping shops and try some on for size and fit.

Not that it would he a hard job but someone has to do it!

Sorry, was in a hurry and didn't read your post correctly. I was advocating lafumas as replacements. I'm laying back in one as I type this. Sooooooooooo comfortable

Aren't they a bit bulky? Prefer folding chairs that go into bag rather than the ones that just fold flat

We bought two folding high-back recliner-type chairs  made by Easycamp and when they are both folded and stacked they take up only a little more space than two 'regular' in-a-bag chairs laid side by side. They were really good on hols. They can be set in 5 positions (I think) so can be set fairly upright for dining or right back for snoozing in the sun. The high back is great.

Another vote for Lafumas.
Yes, a bit bulky ... you can get bags for them (we have three).
They will take up a fair bit of packing space (we put two in the camper and one in the car) .... but they do deliver extreme comfort.
