We've recently got hold of a lovely used Bear Lake 6 in fantastic condition. Trying to source a carpet and 'possibly' the elusive front extension.
Regarding either of these it seems they're a bit like the proverbial rocking horse poop?
Have read a few things regarding alternatives from the likes of Coleman or Universal Carpet for the tent but even these seem rare. Not massively bothered about an exact fit but wouldn't mind it being close, anyway I was wanting to know if anyone had any advice or tips on solutions or alternatives?
It does actually even seem a struggle to source the Coleman solution which i've read was the Fremont 8? Does anyone have a carpet for sale(Long shot)? Rude not to ask....
Great tent. When ours was still the current model we bought two carpets and adapted one to create a carpet for each bedroom. Greedy of us, but there you go.
As you'll probably know, the shape changed for 2013 so the new style (grey) carpet won't fit.
They do come up occasionally on eBay, as do the side and front extensions.
I'd set up searches on ebay. Good luck.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Thanks for the comment, as I say i've been looking and noted the Vermont L has a very similar carpeted area as does the Montana 6 so was edging towards just getting a carpet and butchering it to work around bedroom fixings.
We'd bought the tent in 2011 on a G.O. Price Match deal, but health issues prevented us going away in it till this summer.
Cutting and sewing was reasonably straightforward, and Mrs G was able to re-use the existing edging tape, then just had to buy a bit more as we'd enough carpet to make an entrance mat. That proved really useful.
It's certainly feasible to adapt something else to fit.
