Why would you want that thing?

Its massive but it's only 90 lumins, that's nothing. My tiny pencil torch is 350 lumins. I bought a 150 lumins torch from the petrol station once for £1.99. Still on same set of batteries a year on, and has been used lots.

In the cars and vans at work, the torches as big as that one are over 2,000 lumins.

Plus, LED's last for so long that unless you use it professionally day in day out, rechargeable torches are pointless. Batteries last ages. You are better off having some decent rechargeable batteries.

The internal battery will be rubbish so you will be buying batteries sooner or later.

One buyer on there has already commented on the poor battery quality.

Then why are you buying a torch that looks like a WW2 search light? (and about as bright as a WW2 era torch).

Sorry, I am actually trying to be helpful, maybe just a bit too cheeky with it. Sorry, I'll tone in down, no offence was intended :)

What I am saying is, that 90 lumins is VERY low. You know those old Maglights, the ones the size of a large marker pen? They are about 90 lumins. But that torch is GIGANTIC. In fact I have never seen such a massive torch, but with such low power. I think Lenser make a key ring one that's around 90 lumins, admittedly it was a large keyring.

The reason it's just 90 lumins is simply because a solar charger of that low quality (it has to e for that money) would not produce enough charge for anything higher.

For £25 you could buy a good quality torch, with the same power or much more, and use recharagble batteries. Most torches these days run on AAA or AA and LED's use so little power they will run for a very long time before needing replacing. A handful of rechargeable AA's would last a couple of weeks of regular use in a quality torch.

Or you could go and buy a cheap wind-up torch, or a rechargeable that charges off the main or car only.

Sorry, I know a lot about torches, I use them all the time in my job :)

Only trying to help, and you posted on a public forum so I assumed you were inviting comment :)

One thing i suppose is that its hard to lose ! We have a fair few led torches and lights and the battery life is exceptional considering the output of them.

Have a look at this site - if the prices are in USD, change to pounds at the top of the page. Shipping to the UK is free and takes about a week (I have shopped here a few times, they have some cheap camping stuff too).

Quality varies, but you can get some amazing things for next to nothing. I have a few.

That said, my main torch is an expensive Lenser LED. But it needs to be reliable, as lives can depend on my torch working!
