just wondering if anyone knows if a camp stove ( 2 burner and grill - 904 and 907 caming gaz bottles) that is using camping gaz, can be run on propane.  i have been told that propane is more effiecient for colder weather.

Also anyone know of a supplier for exchange camping gaz cyclinders in the wrexham area ?

The way i understand it now is that, i can either continue to use the stove using the Camping Gaz (Butane) or change to Calor Gas ( Propane or Butane) with the necessary change of regulator.

I can't seem to see any evidence that using Propane is better in any significant way over Butane.  Propane does come in larger bottles than the ones i am using, but that only adds to cost and weight.

So overall no real need to change, unless of course someone knows different.

Propane is only really an advantage if you are going to be using it in low temps,ie Winter.

But then the calorific value of Butane is higher so you will burn less gas.

Allowing for the cooling effect upon vapourization the usable temp of butane is actually a few degrees above freezing

Just chuck "double burner camping stoves" into google shopping.

For the amount  that gas adds on to the cost of a camping trip I too am not bothered, the size and packability of the bottle is more important to me
