Bought an old 1995 buccaneer Caribbean 4 berth for my daughter and I, going down tomorrow to try to work out hook up, heater, alde heating, stove awning etc. Any basic hints please anyone?? (Moved up from a tent as getting too old to put it up!!)
Dont run the hot water on electric and gas if you have a hookup.
Nothing wrong with it. The manual states you can to get a faster warmup. But why waste gas.
I assumed the lower switch had to be on, And then you switch the one on the wall on.
Where in fact one was the electric and the other for gas.
Oh well we only did it once and the water was lovely and hot.
When you 1st put the gas on dont forget it may take a little while to get the air out of the pipes. So if the burners dont light right away be patient and have the doors/windows open to let the gas out.
I usually start with the rings then move onto the oven and grill.
If you haven't got any appliance manuals with the caravan it's worth making a note of what make and model of fridge, heating system and so on you have and downloading them off the internet. Always worth having for reference.
electric takes 45 mins ish to heat the water.
If you use gas, for the first light, I tend to switch it on for a couple of secs, then off, wait 5, then again follow this till it lights.
If I don't, it "backfires" doe to not enough gas to light the burner, but allows enough in the combustion chamber to then ignite with a small bang.
