After the chew of shoe horning our gear into the car and roofbox ( and pulling it out onto the floor to start again), I have finally had the sense to look at a trailer!

Our general gear weight without food is approximately 225kg including roofbox.

The car can only tow 500kg max unbraked. Looking at an Anssems GT 500-181 with hard lid to fix rails and roofbox. This would leave us with about 125kg spare capacity to take the trailer up to max payload. Its unlikely we will ever have a heavier equipment total.

Kindly asking those withe the knowledge is braked better? or should 373kg inc unladen trailer be ok unbraked? tow car Subaru Impreza wrx Wagon.

Still looking, such a wide range to choose from.

The Anssems is aluminium and has a lockable weatherproof hard lid onto which I can mount my roofbox and bars. Comes with good reports, but I will look at all possibilities, Brenderup look good.
