Probably the best LED Lantern around at the moment is the model in the linky model PLNOC6D003, which uses 4 Cree LED's often advertised as 400 Lumens (30watt old money) but is in actual fact just 300 Lumens.

Branded by Outwell (400LX), BaseCamp, Eureka Warrior 400 and Katmandu as 400 Lumen Lanterns.

We have two of the Outwell models and they are bright for a LED Lantern, and will run for ages of 6 rechargeable "D" Cells, paid £25 each for ours a couple of years back from GoOutdoors due to a lucky price match experience.

fully recomend the Ring Automotive Cyba lite vega, 3D cells last forever, 300 lumen many ways to hang and has a number of light settings, the wife and I have one each in our tent bedrooms very handy. Have tried other more expensive Black Diamond led lanterns and they cant touch the Ring ones.
