Good old cotton flannelette sheets/duvet covers are just as warm and considerably less sweaty imho. You can use a fleecy fitted undersheet for extra warmth.

I agree with Val, any shhets made entirely from man made fibres will not have the ability to absorb perspiration or any other body fluids and will be less comfortable. The perspiration has to go somewhere and if not absorbed by the sheets then it will either go through to the next layer or even be absorbed by the mattress itself.
Anyone remember the old fashioned 'Brentfords' nylon sheets?
They soon lost popularity for the same reasons, along with their Nylon nightwear, after around a five year wonder back in the 70s.

Brushed nylon, argh!!! I remember that stuff, my mum bought me a brushed nylon nightie that could have linked into the grid given the amount of static it generated. And it caught in your nails and made your hair stand on end. Ugh....

I was very lucky not to get injured by a lovely 70's orange nylon nightie, when it melted as I stood next to the electric fire!

Can't imagine anything worse than a microfibre sheet personally. Cotton flannalette if you must to keep warm but I much prefer simple cotton.

Nylon sheets and nighties - OH I'm so grateful they melted (!) away into oblivion. The fireworks when you got out of bed were indeed memorable - and they were hard on the skin too.
I'm not sure I fancy textured micro-fibre or fleece sheets/duvet (under sheet faux-sheep fleece bed covers are OK). I prefer silky smooth stuff on my skin or PJs.
I don't like cotton in tent bedding as it seems to hold dampness a bit, and feels clammy (to my mind/body) but sleeping bag silkiness IS appealing.
Do you think 'they' (manufacturers) could make sexy sleeping bags in scarlet satin for those naughty nights and nookie in a tent?

I used to work in a factory making nylon sheets in Cleator Moor! it slosed down just a few years later - I never thought to adk if we could make sexy Nylon sleeping bags - could have kept the factory open.
I prefer flanelette Poundland have some in at the moment, £15 for king size bet sett!

Julia, thanks for the trip down memory lane as I remember my father having a pair of purple paisley nylon Y fronts. The thing of nightmares.
