Dunhelm mill shops sell wipeable plastic tablecloth by the metre in several designs, if your lucky, you may be able to pick up an end of roll remainant for about half the price of the main roll pieces. I managed to get a 2mtr strawberry design for a fiver last year, fits out large awning table a treat.

Yep got a similar type from Aldi a couple of years back, great for spreading out on the concrete and wooden tables that you find on the French Autoroute Aires, as most of the French seem to do.

Aldi price was around £5 so we got a couple, one was tough PVC the other was more fabric like, although both were for outdoor use.

I would hope for the price some £25 for the Franclaire ones that they are of a higher quality, although the Aldi offerings are good quality IMHO.

Hello Everyone. Very interested to see your comments. I just want to clarify some points about our fabrics for you. Whilst we do sell some PVC our fabrics are mainly French, are cotton or linen and coated with an acrylic coating which makes them wipe-clean. Being seasoned caravanners ourselves and having seen these cloths in use all over France we decided to try to make them available to the UK market and so our company was born! Ideal for use both inside and outside, the cloths are cut straight from the roll, so you can have exactly the size you require. They don't fray, they are soft feel like a normal tablecloth and they drape beautifully. They can even be washed and ironed if the need arises, but they are ideal for all sorts of occasions. A lot of our fabrics are not readily available within the UK but they are top quality cottons and linens and, we believe, reasonably priced. (Some of the french tablecloths are hugely expensive)  I hope that clarifies what we are all about and we are happy to send you free samples if you would like to see and feel them for yourselves.  Franclaire Fabrics.

I have purchased products from Franclaire Fabrics.

Last August we came across their stall at Melton Mowbray Agricultural Show. I must say the effort that had been put into their display stand was very eye catching and the fabrics on display were very appealing. It was very noticeable that the fabrics were very up market in their design and quality. We came away with a tablecloth and apron in what we now know to be a very durable material. PVC type materials crease very badly after being folded and therefore don't lie flat. Franclaire cloths also have crease marks when opened out but they soon drop out to leave the cloth totally flat so no unsteady crockery. Also the overhanging corners don't stick out as much because the material is softer so hangs much better.

Yes, I agree, there will be cheaper cloths on the market just the same as Waitrose and Aldi products. You get what you pay for and our purchases still appear as new with no fade, especially the apron which has been washed many times.

Give these products a try, you won't be disappointed.
When you buy a caravan which cost many thousands of pounds why do you buy inferior cloths costing a few pounds. They don't go together.
