For Christmas our son and daughter are going to buy us a cadac but don't know which one to go for is there one that comes with all the extras eg lid griddle pizza plate and the rest

Short answer is no complete kit of everything.......well if there was we couldnt find it!
Best deal we found for carri chef 2 a few months back was from Hamilton gas products. Got the best offer mix of surfaces etc we wanted and bought the pizza stone as extra.

I can't say we use our cadac a lot.  The skottel we have never used or the wire grill.  We have only ever used the ribbed side of the griddle and the other flat side.  The ribbed side is hard to clean but there have been bad batches and I wonder if we have one of them.

The only reason we keep ours is that my wife likes it - probably because if we use the cadac it means I cook ( usually incinerate ).

We bought this one with all the bells and whistles and found we only used the griddle. We added a Paella pan to the collection of bits and bobs and its fine but they are heavy things to lug about and use gas.

Now we use one of these and use the site electricity rather than our gas.

We like our Cadac a lot ... use the Paella pan more than most things ... but have used the skottel, BBQ, flat grill plate and ribbed one ...
Works very well as an oven, too, with the lid on.
We have a slow cooker and three gas rings ... so between it all can produce pretty well anyhting we want.

We too have the Cadac Carri Chef 2 and like others, dont use the pan stand or skottel. Always use the ribbed and plain non stick and the bbq (with difuser) Bit of a pain to clean, dont forget to put a cup of water in the fat tray as that does help.

Hardly ever cook in the van when the Cadac can be used and still use it for breakfast outside in the winter!

We've had 2 x Carri Chef Deluxe packages in the past, when the family were younger and came with us.

Just be aware that the pack size is huge, and quite heavy. We used the skottel mostly (it's a good idea to get a skottel liner, they make washing up so much easier!), and the dual-sided plate (forgot the name of it, one side ribbed and one side smooth). We never used it as an oven or as a pan stand, and used to leave the lid at home to try and reduce the bulk a bit.

In the end, we sold the Carri Chef Deluxe and bought a Campingaz Party Grill, which screws directly into a gas bottle. This still gives all the benefits of the skottel (we still use the liner!), but a much smaller and more manageable pack size (I think they've been discontinued now, though).



Now there's (usually) just the two of us, I feel even this is now overkill, and prefer to take a Cobb. Different kettle of fish I suppose(but you can get a gas variety):

Our Cadac is one of the best things we have bought. Used it loads especially when too hot to cook in motorhome. I have cooked lots of different ways and used all the bits and pieces even the pan stand to cook some pasta. Whole joints cook well using the lid, I use the skottle for all sorts of stir frying. The smooth side of the griddle is easier to clean and would agree that skottle liner would be good. Downsides: ridged griddle and skottle are pigs to clean and of course the whole thing is rather heavy. Overall would not be without it. Use it at home too.

We have the large cadac with everything, that sits in the garage. We take away with us the Safari Chef which plugs into the exterior gas point on Motorhome. As there are just the two of us with occasional trips with 2 grandchildren we find this is plenty big enough, easy to carry and store.

We bought the Cadac mini chef when it was on offer at Tesco and it looks very similar to the safari chef just less accessories, does anyone know if the safari accessories can be used with the mini chef?

Hi all ,
Not been on here in ages and just revising my cooking options, can anyone explain how they did full joints/roasts etc on the cadac.
Might save me forking out for a kampa roastmaster as I already own a cadac carri.

we use a cadac safari chef with the crew on gaz canister ..ideal for 2 of us and its ideal for bacon etc.. boiling water ..bbq ing

Like Lidds0 above I much prefer a Cobb to a Cadac and in the winter or when on ehu I use a george foreman grill and a remoska. The old Cadac I had rusted away through lack of use after a bad gas leak close to the burner unit which was a fairly common problem at one time.
