Some of last years Asda homebrand tents described themselves as "showerproof", check what is written on the tent bag before buying.
Gelert seem to have a reasonable reputation.

Hi,
Probably not Ideal for this time of the year :)
But I am going travelling through France in the summer
and ATM only have large 6 berth tent.
Gelert do pretty decent products and as it has a 1500
hydrostatic head it should do ok but if not I can give it
to the kids as a garden tent so will win either way
and it was free.

1500mm HH should be fine. That is the British Standard. Anything less than that cannot be sold as 'waterproof'.

The first tent I ever had was 1500mm HH and it stood up to everything the British weather threw at it.

Might be worth sealing the seams just in case.

1500HH for the 2 man, 2000HH for the 6 man.

Seems, at the very least, that it's ideal for fair weather campers, and/or more importantly, newbies setting themselves up to see if they like camping. (It's so easy to spend a fortune at the outset, then decide "It's not for us" and bung it all on EBay!!)

At those prices, it'd be daft not to give one a go.

If you decide you like camping, but the tent didn't hold out on that night of constant rain.... that's the time to upgrade the tent, not give up on camping!

One of the best tents we have had was a two man dome from woolies ( £7.50 in sale)only 1500hh but it has been used in all weathers and is still going strong 15years on!

Hi
Sorry I’m a bit late in posting but I got the tent
on tuesday and had a night out friday night and
have to say I was impressed with it for the price
(£15 or free in my case :) )
The only downside was it could have done with being a
couple of inches longer as I am 5'11" and just fitted.
