Hi has anyone ever used a fishing chair bed to sleep in whilst camping that could offer their opinion on their experiences. Thinking of replacing our air bed .
Hi Kate,
Yes, we have them. Lovely and comfy but very bulky to transport. We have 3 but use a large trailer.
We have a fox flatliner, a nash indulgence wideboy and a nash zed bed.
Overall, I would say the fox flatliner and the nash zed bed are the comfiest. The nash zed bed was the cheaper of the 2 so would say that is the best value one that we have.
Just check the length of them against your bedroom pods though, as one of ours won't fit in length ways with the door zipped up.
hi kate..wee have 2 total fishing gear ..tfg.. from gooutdoors I think there on there web site at about £50.00 each.. go on the search bar and type in ..bedchaiors..theres loads of suggestions...stewey camperman
there are many many bed chairs out there the best advice i can give is google tackle/carp shops and see if there any large ones near by with show room some thing like these ones
I don't think you will be disappointed Kate....Best nights sleep I have ever had camping since I started using mine for camping/fishing...I combine mine with a fleece lined 4 season carp fishermans s/bag that fits over the bed with loops top and bottom...So once on the bed it stays put....
When I hire a van to go camping its always the 1st thing to get packed....Comfy Comfy Comfy....even on the coldest night.........

Actually, and I mentioned this to Jel last time we were away, I am tending towards my steel framed camp bed/sim combo over my fishermans bed. Now it may be that the elastic springing may need tightened up but I have been finding that I get a sore back in the morning after sleeping on the fishermans bed for more than 3 or 4 nights. I am a side sleeper and fatter than I should be and I just feel more comfortable after a few days camping on the more rigid camp bed/sim.
Like everything its down to personal preference or practicality...Your campbed SIM combo is probably better for you Jim if your having bother with the fishing bed...Indeed if you take into account the packing aspect the campbed SIM combo is probably better for most people in that respect...
As you know...For practical reasons...I have been trying the backpacking route for a while now...Lying on the ground with some insulation and a SIM under me....Given the choice I'd go with the Fishermans bed every time...But that's not practical in my situation most times...
Whatever you use...I do think it's better up off the ground especially in the winter months...Or if your off camping for a week or more....Yep...Big and bulky to pack..But(In my case) very comfy to sleep in so the fishermans bed is still my choice...If and when circumstances allow me to take it.....

How about we build a set of wheels on it, then you could take it to Knoydart as your carry trolley!!

It HAS been done, you can buy additional wheels and a se to handles to turn a bedchair into a barrow.
