Please would any Anssems trailer owners who have successfully fixed roof bars to the lid of a GT-HT model be kind enough to share their recommendations? I have been advised that some Thule bars I have seen pictured are designed for fixed roof-rails where there is a gap underneath to allow proper fixing as opposed to the small lip on the trailer lid.
Any help appreciated.
We have fixed our roof box to Anssems GT trailer. However, we didnt use roof bars, my husband made something out of 4 lengths of some old aluminium railing/bars from an old vertical blind track I think. He has managed to secure these to the trailer lid without screwing into trailer, and then roof box fits on top of these. If it helps I can try and send some pics to you if you let me have your email.
Do you like your Anssems trailers, soapyagm and SAMMY11? Are they insulated, or do you ever get condensation inside the trailer?
Am just wondering if it's possible to actually store camping gear - including tents - in one. We had a Brenderup 1205s and, with it just being single-skin, there was no way we could use it for anything except carting stuff to and from campsites.
lidds0,
Don't have mine yet, been looking hard and have chosen a GTB750-211HT, braked version. I am clearing out the garage ready to store it in there with hopefully most of the camping gear ready to go!. This will give us a bedroom back much to other half's joy.
Reason for brakes is a light car with plate allowing only 500kg total load un-braked or 1100kg with brakes. There seems to be a big price difference with some of the UK suppliers. I have looked at going to Holland for one, cheaper but what if something goes wrong?
Some of the Anssems dealer I have contacted in this country have not even bothered to reply to emails or phone calls and these were recommended by Anssems.
I wont be put off as they seem the business. I have a new Kamei roof-box and hope to fix this on for bedding and gear that can be kept dry and easy to hand on journeys.
