Just noticed that Obelink (nl)site is now stocking the Mobicool B40 at 199 euro plus 4.95 shipping.
By my calculations that makes it £167 delivered, roughly £30 cheaper than what you can buy if for in the UK. It had been out of stock for a while but seems to be in stock now.
Hopefully a good fridge as I have just ordered one!

we bought one from there last year, delivered in 2 days, but it didn't work, made an horrendous noise. Returned it, they arranged a courier to pick it up, would have exchanged it , but they said they would give a refund as not selling them anymore.
excellent service, can't fault them for that.

Yep I got the Mobicool C40 from Obelink this time last year, definite bargain at just £139 including delivery to UK.

I discounted the B40 as when running on 12v it only works as a cooler, so no use to me when in the South of France during July, so saved around 30€ on the price at the time by getting the C40.

For the 1000 mile journey to the campsite our C40 gets used as a packing box for camping gear.

Oddly the Mobicool C40 is not available at all in the UK, and neither is the Waeco CKD 40 CoolFun same thing as the C40/B40 apart from having a LED Digital Display, which is a nice touch but adds around 75€ to either model, both Mobicool and Waeco come from Dometic.

Good luck as mentioned you will be lucky for it to arrive in one piece as the packaging is woeful, we were just lucky and ours arrived perfect, but a few others on here did mention disasters when there B40 arrived.

After thinking about this long and hard, I decided the Mobicool B40 and other compressor fridges of similar size and weight is not for me.

There is no way I can lift 21kg (empty) on my own without help, even with the help of a trolley to move it about, I still have to lift it in and out of the back of my car.

Therefore, I shall be looking at getting two small compressor fridge/freezer instead, the Waeco's CoolFreeze CDF 18 (special main's adaptor will be required if I were to use it with EHU).

Fingers crossed it will arrive undamaged!
I am ready for the bulk and weight. We are a family with 3 children so need something large enough to feed us for a while on holiday but small enough to carry in the car.

With the exchange rate rising this is becoming even more of a bargain.

It arrived last week in perfect working order. Tested it out and went down to freezing within a short time.
The one thing I would say is that it is larger than anticipated, which is good for food but JUST fits where I need it in the car.
I am not sure why some people say go for the C40 and not the B40, its a bit cheaper but surely any cooling in the car is a bonus? I reckon for under £170 it is good value.
Very pleased with purchase.

Hi nigelsp.
Good that your B40 arrived OK, have they improved the packaging at all?

As for the C40 well I am in that camp, for us the 12v feature of the B40 would be of no use, at we only go camping to the a South of a France in July, so even as a cooler it would be less than useless.

Also we use the C40 as a packing box for kit, for the 1000 mile drive to the main campsite.

Not till then will the C40 be deployed for our fortnight campings.

The great thing is that Dometic make the Mobicool available in both C40 and B40 options, which they also do for the Waeco CK40D CoolFun which is the same item as the Mobicool C40/B40 but adds a Digital LED Display and press button settings instead of a rotary thermostat as found on the Mobicool C40/B40.

I did try to order in the Waeco CK40D CoolFun (240v mains only version) at 220€ from Germany but it all got a bit messy, so went for the Mobicool C40 from Obelink instead for £139 inc delivery it was a no brainer.

So we have slightly different uses for it! I can have the fridge in the cabin of the car and plugged in while we travel so the chill feature while on the move is useful to us. It means we can keep butter etc. chilled while we travel to the site and travelling between sites. I understand it will not be frozen but it will be kept cold enough so we are not constantly throwing out food between sites.
For us the B40 suits us better than a C40!

Yep, nigelsp it's all about horses for courses, before we bought the C40 we already had the Waeco CF25 CoolFreeze, which we will continue to use for in car use and day trips, but for main campsite use it's 23lt capacity was always a challenge, and has been since 2009.

Having said that, the fact that the CF25 works as a pukka compressor fridge whilst mobile, is something that we could never do without, for the 1000 mile journey to and from our main campsite in the South of France during July, a 12v cooler or the B40 for that matter would just simply not cut the mustard for mobile use.

So in a way, we have now ended up with the best of both worlds.

After sitting for a couple of hours going through all the posts just ordered a B40 from Obelink. The EU plug is no issue for me.

Obelink use DPD for shipping, and our C40 arrived within a couple of days of ordering.

As we only go camping in France the Euro-Plug is ideal for us, as one of the extensions on our EHU is of the Euro-Plug type.

For UK use we use one of these, at around £2.50 more expensive than some chepo versions, but is very well made.

I have used it for a trip to England and was very impressed. Cooled it down overnight on electricity the day before and it kept the food frozen solid on an 8 hour trip when connected in the car.
Very pleased with purchase.

We have just received a c40 from obelink, and the packaging and delivery was excellent. The c40 came in its original cardboard carton, inside another cardboard carton.cannot fault either obelink or DPD who delivered it. Thr fridge itself is excellent.

Hi John.
Another C40 convert, well done, the B40 is of course tempting, but when you think it through the C40 is the better buy IMHO.
