Been looking at the latest new lunar Lexon (the model with the lift up cantilever locker) and wondered if anyone on the forum has got one. We have had our caravan from new for 4 years and I wanted some info on the build quality, the internal lockers look and feel very flimsy, and if everything falls out of the front locker when its opened!

We looked and were impressed at how far they have come, but still didn't have the confidence to buy one and went for a 2014 swift challenger instead as we've had 3 new swifts over the years and have been very happy. ( gosh I hope I haven't tempted fate by saying that!!!! )

Hi there. We purchase a new Lexon 540 two and a half years ago. Having had a hymer previously we were disappointed in the build quality. It's made from lightweight materials so don't set your expectations too high. 'Wooden' panels have a couple of small dents. The gas locker lid is a dreadful piece of engineering and doesn't stay dry when out on the road travelling (even after having been back to the dealer when it was new). Functionally, it's perfect with a comfy fixed bed and full beam bathroom. Hope this helps. Cheers

We're on out 3rd Lunar Clubman CK (2 berth) and the latest has the new style front locker. You have to leave a couple of small areas inside uncluttered for the supports to go down into when the lid closes but otherwise it feels much more substantial than the old style and has much easier access. There is a small lip round the bottom so nothing has fallen out on us yet! As for the build quality, on the Clubman it is one of the things that keeps us going back to Lunar (though it may be different on other models). We are very happy with all aspects of the van!
