I have a Peugeot 2.0 HDI 84BHP engine in my motorhome and am considering fitting a tuning box, either CR tech 2 or Pro, as supplied by Bluespark automotive in the UK. Does anyone have experience of fitting this unit on this engine or others and if so what do you think of it.

I have never had one myself but a boy I worked with had one on a Golf (unsure of make of chip) and every now and again the car would flash up all the engine management lights and go into limp mode until he disconnected the battery, If I was looking into performance upgrade for my car (which I am thinking about) I will be going down the road of remapping the ECU which will be done by a professional and you will get a warranty it is a bit more expensive but worth the extra cost in my opinion

hi similar to flufftec above ...

i had my ford transit van " tuned " by a guy called vantuner based in southampton.

up here in scotland he has an agent - i took my van to the agent where the agent plugged in a device into the diagnostic socket of my van.
he then downloaded the current " map " of the vans computer/ecu thing.

this was then sent to vantuner in southampton who then adjust various values and numbers then sent this new map back up to the agent here in scotlland who plugged his device back into my van and re-programmed my van with the new " map ".

the whole thing took about 2 hours and cost 240.00.

the difference is amazing. my van seemed sluggish before and just generally van-ish!

now it drives so well - pulls uphills without needing to change gears, peppy off the mark at the lights and it seems quieter too.

vantuner is well known in the ford transit circles - he s been doing them for a while and its not some kind of plug-in box that can cause error messages and the vehicle to go into limp-mode etc. he 's got excellent reviews on the transit forum and he gives a refund after 30 days if your not happy. im very happy and would defintitly use him again. not sure if he does peugeot vehicles or not but google him and im sure you can find his online site.

I brought from these guys for my kia http://energy-tuning.co.uk/images/installation-centre.jpg. I have had the box fitted for nearly 2yrs and never any problems with mot and never had any engine management lights come on. It definitely improved my car not just for towing but solo as well , I informed my insurer admiral and made no difference to my premium, I got their details from a advert in CC club magazine and got a discount, I spent ages looking at different options but glad I brought from them, they were very helpful with my enquiries and not pushy at all

i have a tuning chip fitted to both my car and my wifes. Gives extra power when needed and better fuel consumption just cruising. Dont buy mega cheap as they have no real settings for your engine. No problems on either car and have been running for a year.

Beware of any "piggy back" chips, they are just a resistor to con the sensors.
Be sure to tell your insurance company otherwise they will wriggle out of any possible claim
