Hi Bob & welcome to the forum

Do you want a flushing loo which has a fresh water tank at the top, and a waste tank at the bottom. Usually you just take the bottom tank over to the chemical disposal point & attach a pipe from underneath the loo, then empty it through there.

Or there's the 'bucket with a lid' type, namely the Luggable Loo or the Kampa Khazi. These are like a strong bucket with a toilet seat & lid, and you put the Blue chemical or Zoflora disinfectant in the bottom with a drop of clean water. To empty, you just take the bucket with the fixed lid to the disposal point & pour it away then rinse with the hose.

The choice is yours. Personally I prefer the bucket with a lid as I find it easier to empty & wash out.

Or in my case a bottle with a cap in the middle of the night.... or as we used to use a porta potti

Hi Bob! Same here as above. Luggable loo for me, so much easier to empty than on with a tank.

Hi bob when I was a kid the only loo found on a boat or caravan was a porta potti with a tank underneath, I used to empty it so they are no big deal and just need the occasional swill out with milton and some pink and blue to keep it smelling fresh. If you want to dissuade family from getting accustomed to it and using it more frequently than just at night I'd suggest the Kampa 10l porta potti just enough capacity to get you through night and kids first thing in morning desperates!!

Personally I wouldn't put a bucket with lid over type in a caravan as spills would be nasty and less easy to clean up fully but just as unpleasant as in a tent.

Have a look at the PETT loo system. No more sloshy fluids etc. Works on poly bag and crystals (cat litter type stuff) Dry disposal in normal rubbish bin.
We've just bought one and would recommend it.
