My wife and I made a decision to return to camping after a long absence, and attended the NEC caravan and camping show to view and purchase a tent. After much deliberation we decided on a Coleman tent and purchased at the show, expecting it to be delivered shortly after.
At no time were we told by the salesperson that stock was not available.

On returning home we read on the receipt that delivery was estimated as 7th March which we decided was OK. Of course, 7th March has passed and no delivery. Today, I rang PJ Camping to ask when I could expect the tent. I was told "they were expecting their delivery today and I could expect it towards the end of next week" and that was that - nothing they could do about it.

My point is: PJ Camping have done nothing to keep me in the loop (they have my phone number and Email address) and they do not seem to care that they have had my money for three weeks and not kept me informed. They seem to forget that customers are their lifeblood and if they are treated badly, will not return.

I am posting this, not only to vent my anger and frustration, but to warn others to be aware when dealing with this company, that, in their view, customers do not come first.

I think mostly your post suggests that it is a better idea to go to your local camping supplier, inspect the erected tents in their tent display, choose one, buy & take it home with you. All these suppliers get complained about on here from time to time though. Most of the time they get it right so most customers are happy.

I thought I would copy the reply I received from PJ:-

" Hi Mr Legg

Im sorry you feel this way, Unfortunatley Coleman were quoting 7th of march to the customers at the nec and it is them who have failed to deliver the stock to us in enough time to be able to deliver this estimated date!
We still have not yet recieved this stock and are being told it is due into our warehouse this week and best we can quote is delivery by the end of next week!
Unfortunatley we have over 2000 orders to process so cannot individually contact everyone to update them of there orders. We are doing ouyr very best and hope you understand and can bare with us. You will recieve notification the day before your delivery is made

I have just realised that PJ Camping was where I got my tent from. They were selling off last years display models on ebay. I won mine for £35 plus £10 postage and it was delivered very quickly. After erecting it I found a few guylines missing but I emailed them and they sent me a big bag full of guy lines...a whole set I think. I can't complain about that.

To P + k! Et al
Hi, I too purchased a Vango Eden 600 xl from the NEC show. We're looking forward to delivery. Have you had yours up yet? What are your fist impressions? We thought it will be great for family camping with our twin girls. Just getting into camping and really looking forward to getting kitted out and taking family camping this year. With young kids we really think the idea of inflatable tech is a wise move!!

Rfair
This is our 3rd airbeam and love them
There are only 2 of us so it's really nice to have all the space we haven't put it up yet but hopefully test pitch next weekend and weather it we've also bought an electric pump to inflate the beams so it will be even easier given the extra weight being polycotton
We will try and post pics of our test pitch
