I am getting tempted to buy one but can you put fire logs in them without warping burning or permanently marking them. I'm a bit wary of essentially having a big fire in something that cost £60 to £70 if it bends and buckles like previous notebooks I only spent £20 on.

Partridges of Hadleigh have the GA on their website for £59.99 plus £3.50 P&P. Go Outdoors price matched for me and I got it for £53.99.

Typical. Here I was quietly mulling over the price at partridges for the last few days when up pops some scamp advertising their price all over this site.
I have only just submitted my price match and noticed that partridges are down to just 2 in stock.
If you could all be very helpful and ignore this thread and any prices for a while much appreciated.
Whilst I was at it I got 2 new chairs price matched. I've got a bit of explaining to do over tea tonight.

You should be ok. There were only 3 in stock when I submitted my request for a price match!

You should be ok, as when I first saw them on Partridges, the stock was showing four, then three...and then a day later, back up to five. I think maybe they show a maximum of five, to make people think they're nearly gone and hit the buy button.
I use instant burning charcoal and it works fine on mine.
I cannot imagine a fire log generating much more heat than a bag of instant burning charcoal, therefore, I do not foresee any issues myself.

Done it many times. Posted a pic the other day. No problems. You'd be hard pressed to damage a G.A. through heat. In fact, I'd say it was impossible.
They are, arguably the toughest portable charcoal grill on the market.
I got my angle grinder out and cut a cast iron grill off an old gas bbq, down to size and it grills the best steaks that you could ever dream of. Great bit of kit.
