I've upgraded over the past couple of years froma small porch awning (big enough for your shoes, coats etc) to a 260cm and now a 390cm awning. I love how light they are and how easy they are to erect.
I also have a full awning with annexe but this is only used on 5 night plus trips as the 390 is big enough for shorter stays.

And to prove the space we sat and fed 12 people in it on Saturday.
As for storage the bikes go on the roof of the car. On site they are locked outside the van to the drawbar.
