What's your budget?
I've got a £600 second-hand Anssems GT750 which I've put roof bars on and racks for three bikes. Four may just about fit but it would be a squeeze. Most kit* is in the trailer (just!) but bedding and a camping fridge go in the car.
Rather than buying, is hiring a trailer an option?

I've also got an Anssems GT750, although my lid is configured the other way and on gas struts, and I must say it's a dream to tow. I've also got an A5 convertible too, which I had a detachable towbar fitted to last year and together they're great. It's nice to have the security of a larger wheeled trailer in my mind, and the bonus is that you can lock the aluminium lid shut with its own integral locking system. It makes for a great lockable storage area when at the campsite too.
The bad news is I've had to expand onto the roof of the trailer this year for the bigger camps and there's not much room in the boot of an A5, just about enough room for clothes (there's 4 of us) and a few bits and bobs.
Oh and it's not recomended to tow with the roof down.
Best of luck and happy holidays.
£600 for that trailer is a bit of a bargain in my eyes pwatson, I paid a bit more than that. ;-)
