we are looking for a large porch awning, we have been looking at the Kampa Rally awnings. What I am not sure about is how good a seal against the van you will get. We have the Sunncamp Ultima 390 that never seems to fit correctly, always has gaps against the van and when pegging down I always feel like there are gaps between the awning and the ground.
I don't need a full awning but I feel that the porch awnings don't sit as good as the full awnings unless I am doing something wrong.
We bought a second hand Isabella magnum moonlight. fits great and the seals against the van are very good. It's a good size. They are quite expensive new though. Ours is a 2010 model, immaculate and less than half the cost of a new one.
We are on our second Kampa awning. We had a 260 plus but now have a Rally Ace 400. Would whole heartedly recommend them. We use the rear upright poles to give a better seal and find them really effective. However, I would say the only way you are going to eliminate draughts completely from the sides is a full awning.
With regard to the floor draughts, we have a higher than average caravan at 2.58m and find the awning a lovely fit height wise. Fit the mud skirts inwards and place carpet down after. Works a treat!
We find the Kampa awnings and poles are great. We sat in our awning until 11:30pm on Sunday night with friends with a small fan heater, we were all quite comfortably warm with t shirt and jumper.................may have had some alcohol warmth too
