Hi we are going electric for the first time and have borrowed a campingaz coolbox which is really noisy, can anyone recommend one or a mini fridge instead as don't want to annoy the neighbours, thanks x

We've had one of these for the past six years ... in tent and FC ... it's very quiet and works fantastically in all sorts of hot weather.

If it is noisy enough to wake the neighbours there must be something wrong with it. Perhaps the fan needs cleaning and a spot of WD40 if you can get at it.

Most camping type mini fridges make a slight noise due to the fact they have a small fan but shouldn't be loud enough to be annoying.

I used to have something like this and it was fairly quiet (I only paid £15 on ebay).

If you are thinking the cool box or camping type mini fridge both work on the same principle of peltier plate and mini fan and will make a noise.
If you are thinking of a domestic type table top fridge as someone has linked above that runs using a compressor that will also produce noise. The compressor fridge will switch on and off where as the peltier plate type device will run permanently.

Mobicool C40 is a proper mains only camping fridge, and being a compressor unit, works just the same as a domestic household fridge.

We got ours from Obelink in a Holland, £139 inc delivery to UK, back in February 2013.

Only available to order via the Obelink Dutch website, the C40 is not available via the UK Obelink website.

Our table top is practically noiseless ... sits right next to the bed pod, and my wife is a very light sleeper ... no problems!

We have the Aldis electric cool box..can fit quite alot in it and it keeps things nice and cold..even when it was baking hot last summer it still worked well..were very happy with it..think it was about 35.00..
