If you want to fly 'country' flags, (5'x3'), then 4m is far to short in my opinion, but ok for a couple of wind socks. You'd have the lower flag cleaning your front caravan window in the breeze
Could some kind person please post a photo of how you keep the flag on the pole? I use the little elastic things girls put in their hair with a wooden dowel stuck in like a toggle. The top one has a tendancy to slide down if I don't twist it enough. There has to be a better way.

The main question that springs to mind is WHY would you want a whacking great pole outside your outfit?
I agree when we go to a site I dont want to pitch near anyone with one the noise they make especially a night flap, flap flap then people come on here and say camping is quite and peacefull not next to one of them all nigh its not.
Our neighbour's flag was the one frustrating thing thing about our last years camp. Kept the Mrs and I awake every night.
Please bring them in at night folks.
;-)
Hi, i fastened the top flag using the freezer bag wire twisty things then used plastic cable ties to hold flags to the pole, they never moved in 4 days camping.
I quite like the idea ,As long as there put down on a night time,Plus its easy to find your tent/van ....Fly the flag i say
