There is sometimes confusion as to what the number refers to but it defines to how many amp hours (ah) a leisure battery will provide and not output power like some think. Basically a 110ah battery holds 110 hours of 12 volt power, 100ah will hold 100 hours and an 85ah will hold 85 hours of power so the difference between the 110ah and 100ah is 10 hours. The important part is to keep the battery fully charged even if it's new otherwise the voltage will drop to a degree where it can't be re-started again which then will be rendered useless. Also you have to make sure that your battery compartment is big enough in width and height to accept a 110ah battery which I found rather difficult and a very tight squeeze but when I had to replace mime I changed to a Lucas 100ah battery which is slightly smaller in size and a much better fit.
