I have a Trumatic (Truma) 'Ultra Heat' heater. The gas side of it works fine. When I turn the electric side of it on, it sometimes comes on for a very short time then turns off, even after checking all temperature settings. It has 3 setting 2000kw down to 500kw with a temperature adjustment for any of the settings. The green light appears when switched on and going to any of the three setting power stays on. The fan works fine. So electricity is getting to the fire. Any ideas please? It is a Swift Challenger 570, 2010 model and everything is in excellent condition.
Sorry I can't answer your query Geoff, but just wanted to say welcome to the forum and to bump your post back up to the top so that hopefully someone who can help you will see it later today
The three power settings (500, 1000 and 2000 kilowatts) are for the electric hook up ratings. Originally the campsite hook up's were just a 6 amp rating then later they were increased to 10 amps and now some sites have increased them to a 16 amp supply. Therefore, if you are on a 6 amp hook up you set the dial to 500, a 10 amp hook up to 1000 and the 2000 if you are on a 16 amp supply. You then have to switch the power on in the morning and let the heat build up at the back of the gas fire during the day time as basically it stores the heat very much the same as a domestic storage heater. When it goes chilly at night you set the left dial on top of the gas fire to manual or auto and the fan should distribute warm air through the duct pipes. If you are asking if the electric heat is instant the answer is no, it has to be switched on and stored during the day time.
