We really liked the 6p but ended up getting the Vermont xlp as it had the front section for cooking and using as a wet room for muddy boots and coats
I think that might be one of the reasons we opted for the vango Eden 600v xl it's roughly the same size and design of the 6p but it's inflatable and polycotton

And quite a few local weekenders
The first thing i notice seeing it pitched was how the front sagged in if the pitch wasnt flat. This was at a shop display.
Thats what put me off especially as the front door is one of the enterances.
Love my Monty 6 I've looked at a few tents and can't seem to find one that beats what we have at the no, we have the front closed extension for extra comfort on longer stays. Have you used the roof protector yet? If so what's your thoughts is it worth investing in one? Thanks in advance.
Have the 6p and love most aspects of it. Space, light, sturdiness. There are some downsides though:
For me it is hard/heavy to lift the poles (I'm a bit petite!)
Having used it a number of times now I have to say I am not convinced by the sloping front. It makes getting the door open hard and I tend to fall into the tent instead of stepping in gracefully!
We also have the awning and have to say I am disappointed. Why does it not have curtains and why dopes it not open into a canopy like the 6 awning?
It also feels cramped compared to the 6.
So in conclusion….. I probably should have stuck with the 6!

No not used it yes, should be at end of the month when we go to Cambridgeshire for 5 nights. I think you can only use it when you don't have the awning/extension on. We have both these too but only used when away more then 5 nights.

We looked at the 6, but I do think the 6P looks nicer, you do get a little less space though, especially with the awning/extension.
As for no curtains I thinks its because it has tinted windows, but Outwell tend to improve something but remove something else in return. The Montana 6 awning never had vents for example. I wish the awning had mesh on the door and cable ties like the main tent. However we got the awning "just in case we needed it" more then anything else.
We only use the awning about once a year as most of our holidays in the Montana 6P are less then 5 nights. We also have the extension, which is not really long enough which we use with the Windbreaker Lux if weather is nice.
We are going to Cornwall for a week in September and hope to use both awning and extension and wind breaker, only done this once before and tent is massive!!

Sometimes I wish I had got the Vermont, I like the storage room. However at time I thought it was too big and that the Montana could be made as big or small as you need with extension/awning. However these take time and hassle and we do not spend much time in the tent to really need them.
Got a bargain on the Mocca Monty 6 a year or so ago now which I have put up twice(With help)...Probably overkill and a tad too big for one person(Both erecting and living in) But if I am off on my main hols for a week or two I like the space it affords me for all my gear in the living area and bedrooms....
Have never opened the front door so the sloping front is not an issue for me...I prefer the side entrance...Or when wet the wee side porch opposite as a means of entry...
Nice sturdy BIG tent that has been rock solid in the stiff breezes that can occur on my beachside holidays...
Only two minor personal issues...1) The Mocha colour gives out a pale coffee hue when your in there and is a bit light in the morning....2)Doors to the bedrooms only have a mesh cover about 2 3rds of the way up and no privacy cover you can zip up...Which might be an issue if the family come camping with me in it...
Other than the above...I'm happy with it for my main holidays...Could do with a smaller steel poled tent for weekends away though....
Jelboy.
