HI
I have just ordered a 5m bell tent and was wondering what size rugs people use in their tents? I was going to buy a cotton rug from ebay.

??
Thanks

If a picture helps, the beige rug at the front is 185 x 108cm and the sheepskin rug on the left is 110cm long. (It's a 5m bell tent.)

PS - Welcome!

Thanks! I love the colour scheme! Giving me ideas. We went to the park this morning to test putting up the tent and it went up so fast, we were amazed. So much better than our last tent. Hopefully less stressful on a Friday evening....

I don't think you can beat the coir matting. It's so durable, doesn't slip all over the place, is made to measure and can be washed really easily.

Having said that, it is quite bulky so some may not have the space. Rather than rolling it up, we fold it and put in the bottom of the car with everything else on top so it doesn't take up too much room.

Ours is a half moon, and we added to that some rag rugs on either side of the bed. They are 120cm x 180cm which I think is the perfect size.

Hi just wondering if you managed to find the right carpet.

I am completely new to camping and have just got a bell tent, I am a bit worried about being cold and thought of carpet and although the coir matting look lovely the lightest in weight I have seen it is 24kg which along with all the other paraphernalia is just too much.

I thought of ordering some lightweight hessian and attempting to make my own and just wondered if anyone has tried this?

I think lightweight hessian will look ok so long as you can anchor it around the edge with furniture and an entrance rug. If you have children or dogs you may find they move it even when anchored down.
We take a trailer as having 3 children limits car space so opted for real carpet (4m x 1.5m off cut) & rugs which don't move. We did have buy a few off cuts of quality carpet some of which was hessian backed which we cut to fit and used hessian side up for the entrance or our 5m bell tent.

It depends on how much room you have to transport it all. We went for a thin cheap cord carpet to fit wall to wall. then added rugs to suit current taste. But DW has decided to change the rugs (and almost everything else) for our next trip. So my advice would be try not to spend too much on them. This was layout for last trip but as I say this will change next time but I think the carpet is staying

Looks lovely, I think I will have a look in the carpet shop before I buy my hessian
