With such a short timescale it maybe best to hire a Box a Trailer.
Lider do some nice single axle Box a Trailers, and for there size are relatively cheap, this is because the un-braked models have a low payload capacity, at just 367kg which is probably more than enough for most folks camping gear.
The max for an un- braked trailer is 750kg even less depending on your cars speck.
Say in my case, our VW Golf is only rated to 650kg for towing an un-braked Trailer so with the Lider 3920 Box Trailer my kit limit would be just 267kg which is less than what we take now in our icle trailer.
The Lider 3920 a Box Trailer can be had for £2k which to be fair is not a bad price. The braked version 32930 adds a further 33kg to the payload at 400kg but more importantly can be pulled with any car, so you get to use the whole of that 400kg if needed.
So that would be nice a braked Lider Box Trailer that can hold 400kg of kit, which is going to be ample and still leave loads of space in the Trailer so that you do not have pack Tetris style, but the Lider 32930 would be £3k new, and that's the downside.
It is the braked Box Trailers that are hugely expensive, with a payload from 1000kg and beyond, which would be total overkill for camping kit, so more suited to commercial use. Edit = Linky/Photo http://www.towing-trailers.co.uk/bv64-e-lider-box-van-p-358.html
