Was in Poundland the other day and saw some ready to light bbq for a pound lol.Has anyone tryed them was thinking of buying some for when i go camping they are small but think the will be ok for me and my two children .

For a pound you couldnt be bad to them Linda.

They should be handy for you and the two kids, as long as you aint thinking of cooking a four coarse meal lol.

I love these little disposable barbecues...that`s all you need to take if you`re only away for the weekend.

You get what you pay for though...I`ve always found the ones from Tesco and Sainsbury`s a lot better than the dirt cheap ones as they last longer. You can get double sized ones as well, and I`ve cooked for six over one of these.

Burnt patches on ground are avoided by using them on a hardstanding, a couple of bricks or your cooker stand if you have one.

B&Q did a wire stand that folds flat for these BBQs last year. I think they were about £2.99.

Yep, I've got one. Stands about two feet tall, saves the grass and your back!

We always stock up on the Poundland ones when we see them. They're good 'enough', and for the price and convenience you can't complain. We have even barbecued breakfast at an 'Aire' on the French Autoroute having driven most of the night. - best breakfast ever!

One tip, which we find makes these cheapies burn a bit better - take a small bottle of firelighting liquid with you and soak the lighting paper and coals in it. I am normally very nervous of the liquid lighter, (just make sure you don't put any liquid anywhere near the BBQ once it is lit!) but I think the lighting component of the cheap BBQs sometimes dries out before they are used, and so take a bit of lighting.

we bought a stack last year from FOCUS diy £5 for 10!!  we lit 2 over weekend but they were crap :O( usually there really good :O) we ended up frying the burgers on the SUNBEAM :O) and thats brill :O)
