I just got this today and am impressed with size, cables etc but it makes a very loud hum when plugged in. Can anyone tell me if this is constant or normal or will it quieten down? I suppose we will eventually get used to it but when my OH came out to the kitchen, he thought it was the neighbours doing some outside work

Its not faulty ours makes the same sort humming sound. You won't notice it as much when its outside the caravan or tent!

Yes the hum is constant but you do zone out after a while.

Be careful of the 12 volt supply lead it's fragile but it's very effective
Apart from that.

It's a loud hum when turned up to the max, a gentle whirr of a fan when turned down to the minimum and that's fine. But the bumpf says to turn it up when the ambient temp is high... So looks like it's normal but as the OPs say, we'll get used to it, me quicker than OH

We got the 40ltr one last weekend end and took it away to the lakes for 5 days Mon thru Fri this week.

We are both so impressed with this new one. I can say it kept the food perfect, but more important the beer and wine have never been kept so chilled for us to enjoy through out the week

Its a big beast, but so worth it as long as you have some room for it.
