I was just reading an old thread about what different types of saucepans to get. My wife (bless her) wants saucepans that have 2 handles and won't take up much space on the caravan hob as the space is quite limited. I've looked at various types with removable handles and ones with handles that fold in but she says an emphatic No! to any of these. Can anyone recommend anything please to put my ears at rest.

I do a lot of the cooking at home and as little as possible in the caravan but I'm not a fan of two handled saucepans mainly because when you need to drain vegetables I find it more awkward trying to tip a two handled saucepan up rather than a long single handed one and quite often requires an assistant which is my wife (bless her). I agree what your wife says about two handled saucepans not taking up so much space and they are much easier to wash up as well but when you are handling boiling hot water I prefer to have a firm grip of the handle every time for safety reasons.
I get into enough hot water as it is.

Why are you involved in selecting saucepans, prey?

When we started camping again, i encourged SWMBO to buy the kampa saucepans and frying pan.. Turned out to be useless.

So I bought her new saucepans and pan that we have bought previously for cooking at home and selected by her ladyship. The frying pan has a fixed long handle and the pans have two stubby ones. Just be careful with these as they can get hot.

If it improves the quality of the cooking, which ours did, and makes SWMBO happy it really is a no brainer. Plus, much easier to wash up, which is where I come in!

Wacky Practical has a collapsible pan with folding handles, however, I cannot see it on their site anymore.

However, it is still listed on Amazon:

Only comes in one size thought, therefore it may not be that practical.

Thanks All for the help. The Lakeland look very good but I didn't imagine I'd be spending £90 for a set of saucepans for the caravan, unless of course SWMBO says "those are the ones".

How many people can you cook for with those? I normally just bring the (heavy, thick bottomed) pans and a wok from home - but they take an age to heat up so I'm looking for something like that set.

I am a solo camper and use the medium set, but they do an XL size.

So I guess you could do up to four with a squeeze on the M set but comfortably do a family of four on the larger set.
