Hi we need a decent light for our tent. Don't want to spend loads but would like something that is recommended as looked around online and looked at reviews but nothing stands out. We have the outwell montana 6 so pretty big space to light up.
We use an Outwell castor light on ehu this used to light up the living area in our Vermont xlp and now use it in our Eden think it was about £20 from go

May Peak District Duke of York

Another vote for the Outwell Castor. Love mine :)

Found our Nivana ❤️
If you're not on EHU I'd recommend this - it's sold by various brands (Vega/Ring/Outwell etc) in different packaging but it's exactly the same light, and the one linked below was the cheaper one of the 4:
It's the baby brother of the 400 lumen Outwell light a lot of people recommend - and whilst lacking a remote control it's much cheaper, despite only being slightly less bright. 300 lumens, seems robust, runs on D cells and is bright enough to illuminate a Kampa Croyde 8 - so should be fine for the smaller Montana. I do tend to chuck in a couple of smaller LED lanterns for bedrooms as well - something like this - but they only get used whilst getting into bed, the 300 lumen one does the donkey work:
We use two small table lamps from home. A lovely soft light and makes it feel very homely! Obviously need to be on EHU though.

These have good reviews elsewhere on this site if a battery light interests you.
We have one and are very pleased with it. Available from other places too (usually in different colours or brands, but if you look carefully, they are otherwise identical so go for the best price you can find. Can't comment on battery life - ours has been away with us on several trips and we haven't had to replace them yet.
------------- Good times and great adventures await...
