Hello- I've not done this before! We need an awning for our 1989
Renault Trafic campervan? One that you can drive away from & leave up on the pitch?
Have no idea what would work & ideally need a dirt cheap one, as it's basically a way of extending the camper space so we can take our 18 month old & don't have to sell our beloved van!
Any help would be great - I have no clue!!!
Thank you! Thank you!!

There's loads out there to chose from! It really depends how much space you need, if you need bedroom inners, how long you want to spend setting up etc etc. We have three for different situations. All the 'stuff' kept in the van and just use different combinations of things depending how long we are going for, whether taking OH's son and friend and if we have all the dogs with us. Just pack relevant awning and we're sorted.

All of ours have bedroom inners if we need to use them.

I have the Outdoor Revolution Touring XLS awning which is quick and easy to erect and has the benefit of an attached 2berth sleeping pod.

Driveway awnings come in all shapes and sizes and most are universal fittings. We picked ours up second hand for £50 and really pleased with it.

Thank you! We just need an awning that can be used as a bedroom or living space during the day?
Would most awnings fit 'most' vans?!
Any recommendations? :)

Hi Maxxy, if you're referring to the second one I posted, yes it is. Sadly however it is years only and discontinued it. I love it for how quick we get it up, pegged and secured to the van via figure of eight and kudos strips. It's super fast, very strong and has been used so much for weekends away. The quick up awnings are a real boon but come with a price tag for the convenience!

Most drive away awnings fit most vans and all will specify a minimum and maximum height so you can be sure it will work with your particular van. A lot come in 'standard' and 'tall' so make sure you order the right one!

I'd say try and get to see some in the flesh before making your mind up. The floor plans may not fully indicate the slope of the sides and therefore the amount of 'usable' space.

Happy shopping!

We also use the Quechua Base Seconds as an awning/day room. Does the job magnificently on our little Toyota HiAce. Thoroughly recommend this at £146, much cheaper than many other awnings.
