Hello,

Anyone tested "in the field" the difference between the 7'5 and 12 cm versions?

Thank you

tmif suggested that they would gladly give up their bed to guests and sleep on their Dreamboat. Our Dreamboat is used extensively when we go camping and also when we visit our youngest daughter because she has limited bedroom space.

Yeap, 7.5cm which we have used for 2 seasons now - would love the 10cm but cannot see the benefit....happy to be corrected but I doubt you would notice the difference as we use a memory foam topper for extra lushness!

2018 & so it begins.

April - please, just one weekend!
May - Who knows....
June - Tristram, Polzeath 10 nights
August - Dartmouth Regatta 4 nights

Any tips on deflating and packing away the 12cm double 😳

Haven't got the double but I used to have a double Vango Comfort, which folded up the middle and then rolled up. For any SIM i usually fold in 4, open valves and lay on it to squeeze the air out. Close the valves (fold in half if the mat is designed to do so) and then roll up towards valves, opening just one to release any final collected up air. This usually gets the mat rolled small enough to go back in the bag.

We have just had our dreamboat 12 out in the field and OMG!!!!

I have come back feeling properly rested and not wanting to go straight upstairs and starfish on my proper bed.

It's amazing.

Packing it up was simple enough with 2 people to do it. Roll seal unroll roll let the remaining air out and reseal and then unroll fold and final roll.

Enjoy!

Linny

We invested in two 7.5cm singles to go on top of our campbeds. They are massive! On top of the campbed, with the sloping rear wall, they were far too long to go in front to back so they had to go in sideways leaving a small gap between - maybe 30cm, they virtually filled the inner tent of our four berth tent. We tried them both with the campbeds and without. The final consensus was that they are more comfortable on the floor avoiding the 'hammock effect' of our cambeds which have stretched somewhat.

Steel - any news on the 'camparison' between 7.5cm Dreamboat and Exped 10cm?

I adore ours - far more comfy than our unforgiving bed mattress - but just takes so long to deflate!

I wonder if Exped do a 'reverse Shnozzle' tool that sucks the air out, rather than squeezing it in???

I've not had a chance to try it our overnight but after inflating it I would say it has a very similar feel.

I haven't had any issues deflating either, both take about the same amount of time to get back in the bag.

Thanks Steel... I have wondered what the difference is as they are so similar.

I wonder if Outwell have a deal as to only supply sizes of 'megamat/dreamboat' that Exped don't sell: one thinner, one fatter.

I don't have a problem deflating them, it just takes a bit of patience, sometimes lacking (from my OH)

We have got an Exped Megamat 10cm and a Dreamboat 7.5 cm. Including the three kids who have tried both, 5 of us agree that the Exped is more comfortable and feels slightly more luxurious; both are excellent quality mats though.
