Today I purchased my first gas lantern for my first trip camping in a few weeks. I wanted a traditional lighting option with lots of light output. The best option to me looked like the Lumostar Plus PZ.
Anyway, the lantern looks great and I've been looking at how to fit and look after mantles etc. The only information I can't find is what size mantle is designed for my lantern?
It comes with one mantle supplied with it but I'm keen to carry backups as I've heard they're quite fragile. Does it matter what size mantle I install??
Great Lanterns my local Tesco was flogging of the LumoGaz Plus at £3.50 back in 2012 so it seemed rude not to buy one, later that year whilst in France I picked up a LumoGaz R PZ same thing but is designed to fit the refillable CampinGaz cylinders like the R01, and strangely is not a model ranged in the UK.
As for mantels, my local Winfields has them, not sure what size but the packet says for the LumoGaz models mentioned.
They do give of a nice Glow at around 80watt in old money, no LED Lantern can come anywhere close that kinda brightness, apart from those 20watt rechargeable units that are designed for site use.
