Has to be my table top patio heater. Collapses so its easy to pack, small enough so it doesn't fill the car and the heat .............. oh and the heat! Its wonderful! and it was a total bargain too. Homebase had them for 25% off so it was less than £80.00 then we managed a further 10% off too. A little luxury when camping and we can use it at home too - what more can I ask? Ohhhhhh and the heat! Sheer bliss!

The worst kind of trouble is the best kind of fun!
Last year we used a cheap barbecue, one of those cheap reusable ones (not a disposable but the next step up). We filled it with a bag of charcoal briquettes and used that as a fire. Great cheap way to keep warm if you cant afford a table top heater, or if safety is a factor. We only used ours when the kids had gone to bed, and we were outside the tent. We were also dressed in warm clothes and sat in our sleeping bags!
Using the BBQ as a heater outside sounds like a great idea and one I hadn't thought of. Just a note of caution though, don't ever be tempted to take a cooling BBQ into a closed space like a van. There was a case reported in our local paper where someone did this, they had extra visitors and he bedded down in his van for the night with the disposable BBQ they had been using popped in to keep him warm. He never woke up - cause of death was Carbon monoxide poisoning. I was shocked, as I wouldn't have thought it was dangerous myself.
My fav item has to be the "wife" cooks, cleans, shops, washers, makes me happy in bed and keeps me warm as well, what better item can ya have hahahaha.
