So we have a basic festival teepee tent that we are taking with us to put up next to our caravan for a French holiday. We use a vango awning. The pegs it came with are pretty rubbish and I'm guessing my pitch might be sandy? What type of pegs should I get to cover all the bases? Thanks!

No pegs will cover all types of bases.
You need at least V pegs for soft ground and rock pegs for hard ground, but if you are not adept with correct pegging procedures then it may be worth using Delta pegs for softer ground.

I have no idea about correct pegging, but I can learn? Or does it take time? I have some rock pegs that I use for my awning on hard ground :)I don't mind getting 2 sets of pegs if that's what is best? Thanks for the help.

Rock pegs are best all rounders and what I use 90% of the time. V pegs or vinyl pegs are good in softer ground. Get down a tent shop and grab a selection :-)

We have found that although the soil is sandier than the UK, the ground is very hard due to less rain! We had lots of bent pegs last year, so have bought a case of 20 rock pegs.

On 2 occasions I have crossed geological boundaries whilst in France. On each occasion the was a visible line across the terrain. The earth and vegetation on either side of the lines were entirely different.
Whatever pegs you take will be wrong most of the time but will cope, don't worry too much about it.

Bramston, you say that but at Glastonbury festival recently every single peg bent! Thanks everyone, I'll get some more rock pegs and some better regular pegs!
