Letting my age out now,but do you remember the original swapshop with Noel Edmonds and Cheggers.Just a thought,why not start a swapshop on here,surely someone must have something they no longer want and would like to swap?

There is a site out there called freecycle. It is for exactly that.

Basically the rules are - you can put anything you no longer want on the site, and if someone asks you for it you give it to them. And if someone has something you want you ask them and they give it to you.

We got a free childs three wheel buggy from it, and some non disposable nappies, and gave away a juicer and something equally useless!

With freecycle, if there isnt a group in your area, you can start one up. The Bristol group is very active, I have given away a load of crockery to someone, am asking for a gas bottle but no response as yet!

Wouldn't work for me I'm afraid, got loadsa gear I no longer need just could never bear to part with it. Thats why attic is full plus 2 sheds the larger being 10' x 11' and can hardly get in the door. Can't even open the door of the smaller one. Wonder if anyone else is a hoarder like me.....Mick

don't know if anyone has seen the other website www.swapz.co.uk  I've not looked on there recently, but I think that it was just starting out when I last looked. There might be a bit more on there now. Seems like a really good idea to have some sort of swap shop.

I think a swapshop is a brill idea, there are loads of things that just get hoarded cause you tend to think that you will advertise it one day but you don't. Yes great idea.
