Can anyone suggest a halogen oven for camping in France? I have a family of 5 so need it bigger enough although only 3 of us are big eaters :)

We've decided against halogen now after being on a 6amp site when all the halogen did was trip the electrics, instead bought a gas kettle bbq with lid and built in thermostat so we can use that as an oven instead and not have to worry about the power usage

we have a cookshop 11l halogen oven that is 1300w and comes with a hinged lid & extension ring, not had a problem on any site yet.

I wish we had taken ours to France. Halogen ovens are absolutely brilliant and I would hate to be without ours.

Its been given some stick since we got back though which will compensate for its near 3 week rest while we were in France!

We've got an Andrew James halogen and, we too, think it's great - this one comes with a lid "rest" which is useful as the lid does get very hot.

have to second the andrew james 12L halogen oven, if you look around at the moment you can get them for 42.99 with 40 quids worth of free stuff and they are great cookers, and as said before the lid rest is a godsend for not melting your tables

Also a +1 for the Andrew James 12l. Although I've bought the digital version with hinged lid as it solves the problem of having to remove the hot lid.

This thing looks good (using the link) and we are going to France too.

How and what to use it for for cooking? Make the reply really simple please.

If using this on 6 amp EHU would we need to unplug fridge and everything else too?

I've just ordered one! I think we will have to take the duel fuel cooker this time as I won't have much time to practise with the halogen but looking st it as an investment for both my kitchens!
