We just use a kettle bbq. After the food, put the wood in. a little bulky but can justify it as its a bbq. Although I do like the look af those fire pits

we also have one of those bbqs which fold flat (notebook portable grill or something?) and just stick logs on it after barbecueing. It is getting a tad warped as I'm sure it wasn't really intended to be used as a firepit but it is surviving so far and it saves us a lot of space and it was only £25
