OK, who's up to speed with these little bluetooth speakers..
The reason I ask is, I was going to fit a car radio/cd/speakers in my caravan, I had an issue with the radio, & on looking on google to sort it I came upon a thread recommending a bluetooth speaker instead of cannibalizing the caravan.
Quality is my concern, I cannot see the little 3w speaker matching the radio/cd, but just how good are these little BT speakers.?
Anyone decided on this route, I'm all ears, rather not fit the radio if the BT is OK, it would save a lot of hassle.
With our tablet, we use a little Jawbone Jambox speaker for music and films and it's fine.
I'm not sure I'm understanding though what it is you're proposing to do.
Are you intending to still fit a *normal* car radio/CD unit, but instead of mounting a speaker, BT it over to a standalone speaker?
Years since I messed around with stuff like that, but the units always needed a speaker load to work right. Maybe these days a sender unit is plugged in. I don't know.
If you're aiming to dispense with the built in radio altogether and use a mobile device to push the sound over, it'll work fine. Just make sure you get something well rated, and be aware you'll be tying up the sending device and eating its battery.
Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
My son has a bluetooth speaker cost around £40 but wow you want to hear it for its size it amazing.
Plays all his music and radio to it using his phone.
He dosent even have a stereo or any CDs and when he is not using his phone he uses a laptop or a Tablet and plays music from web sites for free.
The down side to fitting a car radio is the fact that if you use an overhead locker the radio will get very hot.
Loads of speakers on display at Currys, try before you buy.
I have a BOSE soundlink 3. It is on the expensive side but the sound quality is amazing and worth every penny.
so much so I use it at home and in the office too.
I have a technika one from Tesco. £20 or there about and the sound is amazing from such a little box. I have a bose sound dock as well but this never gets used now.
Built in li-ion battery and charges from USB so ideal for the caravan. So nice to be able to put it in the van, awning or sat outside without any cables.
We have a brilliant little lie tooth UFO that 2 friends have sice copied and bought too (listening to it now in the house in fact). It was about £30 from Amazon, I'll try to post a link......
I was given a little bluetooth speaker from John Lewis (own brand) for Christmas and I can just play any music from my phone or the ipad. But it does have a 'line-in' hole (note my technical jargon because I am so nowledgeable.... ahem) which I presume you could link to something else like a laptop which didn't have BT
It is a suprisingly good sound.
It takes regular batteries (I think, though looking at it I have no idea how they go in) or it has a mini usb 'DC-in' slot.
Great for music or for watching films etc on the ipad
unhelpfully, though, I can't find it on their site at the moment but it is tiny - around 5cm diameter and about 8cm high
