hi.. after a bit of advice.. have got a truma mk2 water pump i have noticed there is no water filter anywhere (swift conqueror 610 lux is the van)so want to fit a inline filter would it be best fitted before the water fills the onboard tank or just on the cold side to sink after the onboard tank or any other ideas would be appreciated... thanks dalco....
The water supply now-days is so good you dont need a filter, once you have cleaned out your caravan system the water supply should be as good as your house.
most new caravans are not fitted with them
I've put mine in the pipe after the on board tank so that water to both the cold taps and the boiler is filtered.
Filters do not appear to affect the taste or remove nasty bugs but they do help prevent limescale.

Our (mesh) filter keeps out the bits that would otherwise damage the pump, caused by it being a 20 year old water tank - that won't be a problem for you. We take the filter jug that we use at home which removes the smell of bleach that we "enjoy".
Installing a water filter can be an expensive mistake mainly due to remaining water left in that freezes during winter as it can crack the complete cowl as it did on my previous caravan. When you drain down for the winter period it's an extra component that needs removing and a fresh one installed at the beginning of the next season. The filters just kept on increasing in price year on year that it became an extra wasted tenner just to filter the water which is doesn't need anyway. The model caravan we have now wasn't fitted with a water filter as standard and I'm glad because they're more trouble than they're worth IMO.
Sounds good. Use some puriclean and you can be sure you have clean tank and pipes. This should be done anyway, as a filter will not protect you from the horrors of biofilm and other nasty bugs that can multiply in tanks and pipes.
