I haven`t used one, but was on a Scout camp and another leader used one, it worked well. I think he even had one to charge his camera battery.

Sorry I cant be more help as I have no idea what make it was or what type of phone he had.

We have one of these. Used it quite a bit and have been very pleased with it.

Since getting the charger I have also got a few more bits from the same company. Been really impressed with their stuff.

We have a 15000mAh battery which works well with the charger too. The battery itself has been enough for weekend camps, but paired with the charger we have never ran out of juice. We take two smart phones and two tablets with us. We use them quite a bit, I including watching the world cup on iPlayer a few weeks back.

Got the same one or one as Jason and Clare looks similar but 3 solar sections. Then into a battery pack 15,000 mAh.

Not used it camping yet but used it at home and works fine. A half charge (half full) does a mobile phone 11/2 times.

Another option would to use a portable battery charger, there are loads on Amazon.
I bought this one which charges my smartphone around 10 times before having to recharge the battery pack.

all the gear and no idea

Boro

The Anker stuff I am impressed with. There is also 'powertraveller' stuff that I have used in the past in different forms plus their solar attachments. The tech is always changing and also depends on voltage of phones too.

Battery chargers are just over a tenner from Anker.

Have a good one!
