I'm looking for some help deciding on a new tent. The two that we like the look of are the Vango Nadina 600 and the Vango Isis 600 V.
Now, that main thing that's putting us off the Nadina is the price, being double that of the Isis. However, it does have steel frames as opposed to fiber glass, which makes for an easier build and sturdier tent overall?
The Isis is smaller and easier to carry around, we're only a couple but want a bit tent as we tend to camp for long periods and also bring family and friends along often, which is why we were going to go with the Nadina.
Anyone have any experience with either of these tents? Or can anyone suggest an alternative, preferrably a steel framed tent? We're cutting it fine as goign on a camping trip on the 8th of August, so would need something that's easy to obtain (No imports)
We've recently bought the ISIS (the 500) and took it out for the first time last week. I would recommend it and don't regret the purchase. Loads of room for the two of us, complete with double-height queen size airbed, so the 600 will be positively palatial. The living area was large enough for us both to sit in with 2 friends and a couple of toddlers.
It's very easy to pitch. I did a test run before we left and to attach the inner. Once on site it took me about 15 minutes single-handed and I didn't swear once. I can't see anything that the Nadina offers that would tempt me to swap and the price plus the extra 25kgs weight would put me off. I've never had any problems with fibreglass poles, though I carry a couple of spare sections plus a repair kit just in case.
Thank you for the great advice! I think we'll probably sway towards the Isis 600 V, however...the problem lies that I can't find a footprint for it anywhere! I wonder if the 600 and 600 v have the same footprint, hmm
I might be wrong but i don't think there is a V and a separate non-V model, just that some retailers don't mention the V in the product title. There's only the V listed on the Vango site.
After a bit of digging I've worked that out, d'oh! But now another spanner has entered the works and I'm tossing up between the Isis 600 and Outwell Nevada MP.
