I am in need of a tent carpet this year but am on a tight tight budget. We have a khyam Montreal tunnel tent. What I did was buy a few picnic fold up blankets with waterproof backs from tesco for 7pds each. I then went to the pound store for anti skid matting and velcro. After a bit of sewing and velcro work I have what is a carpet that folds up compactly and mostly is to size of my tent. I excluded the kitchen area for obvious reasons. All in all this huge carpet cost me less than 20pds. Brilliant idea or am I not thinking of something?
Waterproof picnic rugs are commonly used in place of tent carpets as they are pretty much the same.
In my case I only have two of them and place them loosely together. They are held down by tables and boxes at the edges.
If I needed more, or had kids or dogs running in and out then like you have done, it would be a good idea to stick them down somehow. I probably wouldn't have thought of creating one big carpet with anti slip material and velcro though.
You say you bought a few picnic rugs at £7 each and the whole lot cost you less than £20? Three rugs at £7 would have cost you £21. You have to be careful because depending on the number of picnic rugs you need it could end up costing you more than the made to measure tent carpet.
i to use picnic rugs easy to put down and shake outside the tent every so often ,As for a fitted carpet a bit expensive

I have compromised on fitted carpet because the maritsa is no longer made and the carpets are going for £140!!!!!!! On eBay. I bought the next best fit, at £70 not cheap bit no slipping or gaps and if I care for it I'll sell it on.
