Hi,
We have just bought a table top fridge for our camping trips - I'm quite excited that we will have properly chilled food!

I notice that you're supposed to leave the fridge in situ for 4 hours before switching on, to give it time to settle. Does everyone do this or just leave it while getting set up and then switch it on?

What one did you get. We are looking at getting one as we have just come back from camping in south Brittany and I got feed up move our electric cool box around to keep it in the shade to keep the temperature down it was 25 degrees in the shade!

As long as the Fridge is kept in its correct upright position when you travel with it. It then does not require 4 hours to settle, this figure is only for when it is first purchased/delivered as delivery companies sometimes do not care how the fridge is, i.e. on it's side or what ever.

Agree ... we travel ours upright .... and it's usually plugged in and working within fifteen minutes of stopping.
That's a Logic three shelf model from Currys.

We got the Mobicool C40 back in February 2013, superb portable mains only camping Fridge, and worked fine for our fortnight campings down at Frejus South of France, July just gone.

At £139 inc delivery to UK from Obelink in Holland, more expensive than a domestic Table Top Fridge, that you can buy from Tesco/Argos etc.

But the C40 packs quite samall and has grab handles for lugging around.

At the end of the day, you pays your money and makes your choice!

I got the cheapest one in Argos the other week, it's loads better than our electric coolbox. No soggy bottoms on all the packaging, twice as much room, able to freeze ice blocks so we could take a picnic out during the day. I did turn the thurmostat up a notch when we went to France as it was hot weather. Sat it on the floor no problems. Didn't leave it to stand, just plugged it in when we'd finished unpacking everything. Runs a lot quieter than the coolbox too.

Got my table top from a charity furniture store, £10. Sits upright in the back of the car and just plug it in as soon as we are connected to the electric.

Just back from the Lakes - we kept the fridge upright in the car, got it set up when we got there and plugged it in. No problems at all, it was a great success.

We just got a cheap one from Argos. Decided that it would work better than an electric coolbox. It was very quiet and did an excellent job, very pleased we decided to go for it.

will the table top fridge just run off the EHU or do you an adaptor

As long as the EHU has a 3 Pin Socket at the inboard end, or whatever your unit is has a 3 Pin Socket there is no need to buy an adaptor. If its a 230V fridge and sockets are available, all systems go!.

The tabletop fridge referred to is a small domestic fridge that runs off mains. If you wanted to use a cheap electric coolbox that you could use in your car as well then for a 12v only coolbox you would need an adaptor to run off mains EHU.
