We are always out all day when we camp and I have never really entertained campfire cooking before (even though we usually camp where fires are allowed). I am wondering if I should give it a go.

Those that cook with dutch ovens - how long does it take you to produce dinner generally (not talking leg of lamb/roast type things as would take much too long for us!) If I bought one I could imagine cooking pizza, cobbler type things and bread.

When I last considered it a few years ago I bought a really nice pressure cooker instead and I use it a lot, I can make really nice stews in 40 mins plus reducing time in that (am sure it would taste nicer slow cooked though).

We are always starving when we get back to the tent so a really long cook wouldn't work (esp as we are usually tired from our adventures and are generally asleep by 9.45pm!)

I was thinking of buying a 4ltr one but can't decide it it is worth it or not.
