Hi all,do many of you use a roll out awning and how do you find ease of putting up and rolling back again

We have one on our van and I am not keen on it. It is easy to set up but not as easy to put away. It doesn't serve the same purpose as an awning. I am sure there will be disagreement as some love them - the wife included.

We have the Fiamma Zip version which acts as a roll out sunshade but with the option to zip in sides and a front to turn it into a largish porch awning.

Its easy for one person to roll out but really needs 2 to roll back in if only to ensure that it gets rolled up straigth because if not the damn thing won't go back in the zip bag in the awning channel!

Only regret is that I didn't buy the bigger size

We have had one and loved it, but we now have a bigger van and it's on the small side, easy to use but best as a two person job to put away, with step needed by the O/H.
We have just ordered a Quest Rollaway 4.5m as replacement and got a reasonable trade in for the Caravanstore and Ventura Marlin awning. Looks a quality product having seen one at Glossop Caravans yesterday
Being delivered tomorrow and can't wait to use it in 3 weeks time at Bunree.

Thanks all for your varied input,we've recently sold our Motorhome and used to have a wind out awning on it which was really quick and easy,when we sold that and bought our caravan it came with a full size awning which we'll never put up after watching various caravaners on various sites so a roll out seemed an obvious answer.
