Hello everybody, I have just bought a Carioca 10 motorhome
and I want to be able to use a drive away awning, but my concern is that the side which has the entrance door has got the fridge vents beside the door and I am worried that if I am using gas to power the fridge that we would have carbon monoxide fumes in the awning.
Does anyone know of a solution or am I being over cautious
as most awnings are not airtight.
Any help will be very much appreciated, Thanks Mike
Lots of caravans have fridge vents inside awning. We have had eleven caravans over forty year period and every one vented inside awnings with no problems as the amount of flue gases of a fridge are so small and awnings are not air tight.A different proposition to someone having a BBQ inside an awning.
Also drive away awnings have a baffle/tunnel of fabric that fits to the van then you have the rear door to the awning... So the vents are venting out to a very vented area of the awning.

You only get carbon monoxide if combustion is incomplete, due to a lack of oxygen. A gas fridge uses very little gas and the oxygen supply would be more than adequate, unless you made your motorhome totally airtight
